About the artist Heather Burns

Heather Burns is a self-taught visual artist based in Cape Town, South Africa. A lifelong explorer, her focus as a creative spirit lies is delving into the spaces where beauty, spirituality, personal identity and experiential art meet.
Heather’s art is designed to ignite the viewer’s senses and speak to those parts of us that long for possibility, and making magnificent dreams part of our daily lives. She says: "Beauty created with purpose is so so restorative, regenerative, calming, centering, and inspiring. It heals people."

MY WISH FOR YOU
I’m always trying the capture the essence of being – then suspend it in time and space. When I get this right, I feel like I’ve captured a spiritual blueprint of an image, an idea (or, if it’s a spirit reading and commission) the essence of you, my amazing subject. My wish for all those I work with, is to create pieces of art that really speak to those parts of you that need awakening and nourishment.
Oscar Wilde wrote that we should: “Cure the soul by means of the senses and the senses by means of the soul.”
That pretty much sums it up for me.
