How to manifest action

There you sit. Stuck. Unable to move in any direction. You don’t know how you got here. But it’s starting to feel uncomfortable. You seek velocity, momentum, and purpose.

Inaction is such an uncomfortable space. Ugh.

I get it, you know. You’re tired of feeling like a useless blob. (Don’t worry, we all feel blobby at times – either physically, emotionally, spiritually, or intellectually. It’s part of the human condition. The point is, you don’t have to stay a blob!)

You’re yearning to get unstuck and stuck into something that makes you feel the blood coursing through your veins, aren’t you? For something that restores vitality, faith, excitement, and enthusiasm in your life.

So how do you get there?

Start with something manageable

Often, the starting point of manifesting action is to do something small, manageable, and simple so as to develop your self-confidence in increments.

This is a great way to cultivate action and good habits. Just 5 minutes a day of doing things differently.

Take the leap

At other times, you just need to dive right in. Make that phone call. Write that email. Book that ticket. Deep breathe in and… leap!

What have you really got to lose? Another day of feeling blobby? No thank you.

The calm before the doing

Need an extra nudge?

My advice is to sit in a quiet spot and ask yourself:

“What am I so scared of? What is stopping me from taking action?”

Marianne Williamson famously wrote (a quote often mis-ascribed to Nelson Mandela):

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, ‘Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?’

Actually, who are you not to be?”

Who are you not to be?

So, you want to sink your teeth into doing things, but you don’t know where to begin?

The fact is dear one, that your mind and your heart have been gathering strength and lying fallow, and now it’s time to act.

Ask yourself again: Who am I not to be? Who am I not to be fabulous, creative, successful, interesting, healthy, content, and fulfilled?

You should be all of those things. You can attain all of those things. You deserve them, darling person, as much as anyone!

Now breathe into your power in that moment of stillness and then stand up and take your first step.

You’ve got this. I promise.
